Character Information
Name: Trucy Wright
Canon: Ace Attorney
Canon Point: 4-2, after faking her own abduction
Age: 15
History: this

Personality:
The recipe for an Ace Attorney assistant is pretty simple: You take one teenage girl, add a load of enthusiasm, a bit of strangeness, and some missing parents and Bob's your uncle.

Trucy doesn't really deviate from that formula. As a teenage magician and heir to one of the most famous magic troupes in the Ace Attorney universe, she has the strangeness in spades - from her inconspicuous appearance to her bizarre imagination. She brings humour and light into cases that could be exceptionally dull, with boundless energy and curiosity. Like any of the assistants, she's a helpful and outgoing one, usually signing Apollo up for things he'd never do alone (cases he doesn't get paid for, concerts). She's a fangirl - she loves Klavier's band, The Gavinners, as well as Troupe Gramarye - and in many respects, she doesn't differ from many teenagers. She enjoys teasing others - from making their things disappear to letting her imagination run riot and coming out with some of the oddest things - she seems to love getting a reaction out of someone. She's a Genki Girl and a Cloudcuckoolander, but that part of her personality hides a much more complex and interesting character.

Trucy without magic would be almost impossible to describe. She is a performer at heart and like any good magician she'll never reveal the secrets of a trick, even if they're needed to solve a murder case. She has a strong work ethic, having been raised by a family of people constantly trying to improve their illusions, and to an extent, she probably takes on a lot to keep herself occupied and her mind away from thinking too much about the less savoury aspects of her past. As a result, she's a 15 year old schoolgirl, legal aide, magician and CEO (even if her work as CEO of the Wright Anything Agency seems minimal). As a lifelong performer, Trucy's dramatic and capable of putting on a smile whenever the situation calls for it, but she doesn't always hide her emotions behind a smile - she's actually very expressive and animated. In fact, the only thing she really hides is her pain at losing her family at such a young age (Phoenix: I have to keep an eye on her, at least. Because I'm the only one who knows how she really feels... on the inside.)

With her blood-given ability to perceive when people feel tense, Trucy instinctively knows when to put on her best smile and keep upbeat - even at eight years old with her mother missing for years, her father disappeared, and her uncle then in the detention centre under suspicion of murdering her grandfather, Trucy managed to keep her smile bright and distract Phoenix from his disbarment with plans for making a talent agency and promises that she'd help out. Despite her chirpy, adolescent personality, she displays a sense of responsibility at points in the game that betrays the things she's gone through.

Magic is Trucy's calling, as far as she's concerned, and school most definitely isn't. Why would she need to sit in a classroom and stare at a textbook when she could be learning new tricks with which to dazzle her audience? Because of magic, her worldview is a little warped - things that should be mysteries seem utterly normal, and hobbies like lockpicking don't carry the connotation of criminality. This life of magic and, more precisely, working means that she also considers professionalism and promotion incredibly important — whether handing flyers out to a stranger or reminding Apollo that "A professional can perform anywhere!", everything is an opportunity to show off your skills, to practice, or to find a new client.

Having spent half her life as Phoenix Wright's daughter, and all of it as a magician, Trucy is alert and perceptive. She's probably the most proactive and contributing assistant in the games (at least, one who doesn't come with her own gadgets), solving small parts of Apollo's second and third trials, buying Apollo time in his second trial by staging her own kidnapping, as well as providing the requisite Strange Attorney Aiding Power (i.e. teaching Apollo how to use his Perceive ability). She thinks fast and acts on it, even if her actions aren't always the wisest course to follow (is it ever a good idea to pretend to kidnap yourself, even if a trial's going badly?). She's not fearless, but she's occasionally reckless, chasing panty thieving creeps into garages without thinking through the possible consequences.

By no means is Trucy a legal genius with the ability to flawlessly create arguments or anything - at least one of her arguments to Prosecutor Gavin fizzles out the second he introduces another possibility - but she has a lot of potential ability to think both logically and crazily (which, in the Ace Attorney universe, is always important). She knows more than she lets on, or if she doesn't, her poker face is good enough to hide that when she wants to. Like any good daughter, Trucy listens to her father and occasionally parrots his nuggets of "wisdom" to others, even if they're not all that relevant.

Or true.

Abilities & Skills:
MAGIC; of the stage magic and illusions variety! Trucy is a lifelong magician who has numerous tricks up her sleeve, whether it's making things disappear and then pulling it out of her panties, her illustrious puppet Mr. Hat, shooting cats out of guns or throwing knives.

PERCEPTION; an ability inherited from her biological mother, Trucy has a greater than average perception of people's nervous habits. While useful for gauging the reactions of her audience, without the accompanying bracelets (which reside with her mother and Apollo), Trucy is unable to focus it at the same level as other Perceive users and often needs to be anticipating a reason for someone to have a nervous habit (such as when accompanying Phoenix to a poker match or going to court with Apollo) — i.e. she can't just bust it out in casual conversation

Inventory/Companions: One (1) Magic Panties, One (1) Mr. Hat, One (1) knife.

Choice: Puca
Reason: The Puca is a very fitting monster for Trucy, as she is a playful teenager who enjoys harmless mischief, whether ridiculous jokes or making items "disappear" through her magic skills. Transforming into a Puca will further emphasise her fun and chaotic nature and I think it is actually illegal to app a magician and not make them some sort of trickster monster.

Sample: Nothing says "magician" like a silk top hat!
